It seems that every generation has a name. We’ve all heard of the Baby Boomers, Baby Busters, GenX, GenY, the Millennium Generation and so forth.
When we asked our teens what they wanted to call our youth ministry they decided on GenRed.

Since every generation is known for something, they decided that they wanted to be known as a generation that is washed by the blood of Christ.
So Gen stands for Generation and Red stands for Christ’s blood. As the early Apostles were known as people who “turned the world upside down” (Acts 17:6), our youth group knows that the same thing can be done by any person who has been redeemed by Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and who rely on Him for their daily bread.
Lord God…let us affect our world with the powerful message of the cross!
